Anatomical Movement

About Anatomical Movement

Anatomical movement is Pilates & Dance based training with a biomechanical approach. The main objective is to bring back balance to our body (sometimes we lack strength, sometimes  mobility, sometimes alignment, sometimes all).
Anatomical movement is a different and smart  way to train. It provides you the access to the "map" of your body, driving you through the most organic and efficinet roads, instead of moving through blindness. While focussing on different chains of muscles and analysing how the forces work in our body, we  prevent any injuries and learn how to train efficiently.

A. M. specialises also on Hypermobile patients and Elhers Danlos Syndrome in general.

Vision

Our Vision is to provide a safe and smart training to keep you Healthy and improve your life quality. We understand that specialised trianing techniques can be expensive, so we created a way to make it affordable. We believe everyone has the right to have a dignified and healthy life.

Who can do it?

Anatomical training is for every level and every type of body. We work tense bodies  as well as the ones who struggle to gain muscle tone. Older people to young ones, people with mobility restrictions, pre and post pregnancy. Also we work with  people who has no experience, to dancers, acrobats and athletes.

Story

During the years I have trained as a dancer, I have sorted out many difficulties and obstacles. As a Hypermobile (one of the types of  Elhers Danlos Syndrome) I have had lots of injuries and I have felt like I was  smashing my body to get results. Luckily I have found a wiser and more efficient way to work with my body. And there is where Biomechanics  came  into my life.

EDS community

Anatomical movement is a welcoming space for people with Elhers Danlos syndrome & Hypermobility.

People with EDS and Hypermobility have a conective tissue disorder  which creates more instability on the joints, besides a serie of co-morbidities. Also they have  less mechanoreceptors, for which knowing where we are in space and connecting the different muscles requieres a lot more of "stimulus"  and knowing those roads on the map. Working through biomechanics allows  the development of  awareness in our bodies and mind-body  connections. Its like having the map that awakens all the "routes" we need to go through to work in a more organic  and less painful

way.

Why Anatomical Movement?

As Albert Einstein said: "don't do the same thing over and over again and expect different results".  Anatomical Movement offers a different type of  training.  Our goals is for you to actually improve,  reduce or get you niggle free. It is not just about "feeling the burn", but also about  learning  how to move. Empowering yourself so you can traspass those skills to your day to day life and/or any physical activity you love to do.

"Movement is health, movement is life"

" I felt in very capable hands with Coti. She has a wide knowledge of the body and movement, drawing from not only the clinical but from her special interest in dance.  She teaches confidently and facilitates personal treatment programs with commitment and encouragement. She is delightful, inspiring, persistent and caring. I highly recommend Coti”
